As I'm trying to be "frugal" these days, I haven't done a lot of yarn shopping. I'm very aware of the "Yarn Factor" in my budget.. But I couldn't resist a skein of Fleece Artist (who could?...) and 7 skeins of Briggs Little 100% wool "Heritage"and "Regal" (2 Ply17sts = 10cm(4") on 5mm needles; 215 yds/skein. Just 4.59$ CAN) for christmas gifts to come.
While relaxing on the beach, I almost finished a cardigan (my own creation with a little help from the Sweater Wizard) for a two years old little girl I love very much (photos in a future post) and I designed and knitted a baby scarf for our P.E.I. hosts who, we happily discovered, were (and still are!) expecting a baby. I took a few photos, late at night; they're not very good, but the one I send here will give you an idea of the final product (not blocked... we were leaving the next morning). I didn't take any notes while knitting, but I hope the photos will allow me to write down the pattern.
I had the pleasure to find the new issue of Vogue Knitting (25th anniversary) when we went to the Charlottetown's Indigo. Even if I prefer IK, I was very pleased with this fall 2007 issue of VK, the patterns, the long interviews. But there was a "hic" to my happiness: ten pages were missing in the instructions section. I will have to buy another copy...
More on my knitting adventures later!
